The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa government has formed a parliamentary committee to investigate about corruption and illegal appointments allegations against UoP administration. This committee was formed after Oct 4 incident, where the students were Baton charged resulting in getting injured. The students of UoP were protesting against fee hike and also complained about deformities and corruption in university. The UoP has also been alleged for non-merit admissions and nepotism. Scholarships were given to favorite students as well.

The students protested against new security policy of UoP as well. Committee member Sardar Hussain Babak told the press, “We are not only probing the police’s highhandedness on campus but we are also going to probe the allegations of illegal appointments, irregularities and financial corruption in the university. We will be looking into the complaints of fee hike, too.”

The students held second protest and demanded University administration and Committee members to hold a meeting with students. Muttahida Tulaba Mahaz, one of all student UoP student organization previously held a sit-in 6 months ago for two weeks. However, the protest was dismissed on request of former higher education minister Mushtaq Ghani who assured the MTM of help and assistance for solution of their problems.

The parliamentary committee has called on UoP administration to bring all the documents related to fee, hostel and transportation expenditures. UoP spokesman Ali Imran Bangash told the press that University has provided all the asked documents to the committee. He claimed that most of the protestors on Oct 4 incident were outsiders and not UoP students.
