AIOU to hold national conference on social sciences

Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU), Islamabad will hold a national conference on social sciences in the beginning of next month. It would be a mega event, to be attended by social scientists from the entire country. It will cover an extensive range of topics of various disciplines to assist in understanding the complex social problems. Vice Chancellor of the university, Dr Shahid Siddiqui said that this is part of the continuous efforts of the university to promote innovative as well as the research-based study on socio-economic problems.

He moreover said that university wants to play its pro-active role in promoting applied as well as meaningful research through its academic searches. This is also intended providing academic input to the government in making of policy. Allama Iqbal Open University is also aggressively engaged in creating linkage among the researchers as well as the industries for the best use of latest innovations and the scientific advancement as well.

The upcoming conference will recall the importance of the social sciences by highlighting their increasing relevance in the context of today. It will serve like a platform for presenting new knowledge and visions in the field of social sciences.
