Islamabad: Executive Council of Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) has approved the study strategy for postgraduate level that will help the aspirants of MA, MSc, MPhil and PhD in rationalizing the admission, examination as well as mailing procedure.
According to the Vice Chancellor of AIOU Prof Dr Shahid Siddiqui, this is a major step towards timely as well as effective handling of the postgraduate level degree programmes.
A website will also be launched soon that will contain all the required information about postgraduate studies, he added.
Dr Shahid Sididqui said that the office would check the timeline for major activities of graduate programmes in association along with the related departments. He said, it has been assigned the task of certifying timely completion of admissions, announcements of results and mailing of books.
VC of varsity said that this individual office will also be a source of strength to improve the quality of higher studies and for upgrading the academic ranking of university along with promoting research-based activities
He said that this study strategy is also targeted at offering best possible services to aspirants with focus on higher studies.
Dr Naghmana Rashid who has been hired as the chairperson of this office said that following the directions of VC the office had been made serviceable instantly. Its initial work proved very effectively in the timely announcement of outgoing semester.
