AIOU announces date sheet of postgraduate programs

Islamabad, Allama Iqbal Open University AIOU has announced the date sheet for PGD, MA and MSc programs. The detailed date sheet can be seen at the university website www.aiou.edu,pk. The university has also dispatched the books and study material to students of CT program for autumn semester 2013 all over the country.

The In-charge, Mailing Section, Waqar Ahmed Sheikh said that the process of sending books will be completed on time according to the instructions of Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr Nazir Ahmed Sangi. The university is taking steps to enhance the system to facilitate the students by sending in time books and other relevant material at their door steps. The mailing process of books to students of Matric, FA and BA programs will be ended till the first week of December 2013, he added.

AIOU has a vast network of regional centers across the country which is providing educational services in Pakistan in the Middle East. AIOU is a Distance Education institution which is offering multi-disciplinary education from basic to doctoral level programs.

The university has established 36 regional campuses and centers across the country to manage and facilitate efficient system of education of the university. The qualified teachers and experts of several fields of study in their area and the university hire them as part-time tutors. Each group of students is assigned to a tutor for guidance.

AIOU already has 36 to 40 campuses all over the country, the number of these campuses will be increased to 39 within this year, the VC added. He appreciated the gesture of some public representatives and well-to-do people who had offered land to the university free of cost for building new campuses and study centers in various regions.

AIOU has been focusing on expanding its academic network to wide-ranging areas and providing education to the neglected regions of the society.
