Swat: The 14 years old Hira Akbar has become the second student from Swat district of KhyberPakhtunkhwa (KPK) after Malala Yousafzai to be selected for the International Children’s Peace Prize.

She is among the six aspirants nominated out of total 200 from all over the world.

Whle talking to the media sources Hira at her home in Saidu Sharif said that “I will continue my struggle for the rights of my fellow beings in Swat”.

 “This International Children’s Peace Prize nomination has motivated me to strive for the rights of children crosswise the province,” she said.

The speaker of the Child Rights Committee’s parliament has been selected for the award for her efforts for rights of children in Swat.

Malala, who was shot by Taliban activists after campaigning for the rights of girls to education, had won the prominent International Children’s Peace Prize in 2013.

The International Children’s Peace Prize, an important step of the Dutch based KidsRights Foundation, was launched earlier in 2005 by former Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev, when he lead the Summit of Nobel Peace Laureates in Rome.

Afterwards Malala became the youngest Nobel Prize laureate.

International Children’s Peace Prize carries a cash value of worth 100,000 euros ($133,000) that is invested in projects relating to the cause of winner.
