PESHAWAR: Entry test for admission to Master of Arts and Master of Science in 43 departments and two colleges of the University of Peshawar was held under the National Testing Service on Sunday.

A total of 7,000 candidates appeared in the test, the officials said. Director Admissions Muhammad Islam along with 10 resident inspectors monitored the test along with supervisory staff in the allocated eight examination centres.

The two-hour test was held in two sessions, morning session that started at 9 a.m. followed by the evening shift that got underway from 2 p.m. The students who intended to take admission to the Management Sciences Group appeared in the test on October 9.

Students from Afghanistan also appeared in the test and separate arrangements were made for them at the Government College, Peshawar. One of the students, Muhammad Zahir Amiri, head of Biology Department, Education Faculty Nangahar University in Afghanistan, who wants to take admission to the Environmental Sciences Department, said he found the NTS test for admission into University of Peshawar Master’s programme as very good and hoped that his stay at the UoP would be of great help to him.

Several students from Balochistan, who were also taking NTS test for the first time, said that it was balanced with blend of good course of studies content. The result would be declared in three days, which would be available on NTS and University of Peshawar websites.
