Almost 591students were granted degrees of different undergraduate and postgraduate programmes on the 60th convocation of the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), organized at university yesterday.

Chairing over the event, Federal Minister of Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal asked the graduating aspirants to give in their best plus to always work hard rather than going for shorter ways in life.

During his address she also the students to avoid all the negative and deceptive statements regarding the nation as they were, “Spread by anti-Pakistan elements to misguide the young generation of our state.”

The Dean of IBA Karachi as well as the Director Dr Ishrat Husain during congratulating the aspirants as well as their parents said that, "the education is not only about restricting oneself to the books, teachers and notes as well; it is a all-inclusive pursuit, which comprises of being out there and almost experiencing the ups and downs of the actual life.” Hussain, also appreciate the female aspirants on showing the brilliant performance.

Between the graduating aspirants, 103 were granted along with the degrees in absentia, while the two faculty members also get their PhD degrees. 177 and 123 aspirants of BBA (Fall-2011), from both the main as well as from the city campuses of the university respectively were also granted degrees moreover 65 aspirants granted with BS-Computer Science.

Students who have been granted with gold medals were also given the cash prizes. Sidra Ajmal of BBA (Fall-2011) clinched a gold medal for the best student-undergraduate; while the gold medal for best student-graduate was received by Waqas Mahmood of MBA (Fall-2013).
