42,000 candidates to appear in UHS MCAT entrance test 2013

Lahore, The University of Health Sciences (UHS) is going to conduct the MCAT entrance test on Sep 22 for admission to public and private sector medical and dental institutions of Punjab province in which 42,000 candidates will participate.

The test centers in 20 cities of the province has been organized including Lahore, Faisalabad, Sahiwal, Bahawalpur, Multan, Rahim Yar Khan, Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Hassan Abdal, Gujrat, Gujran-wala and DG Khan. Test will begin at 9am at all the centers. Centers will be seated at 8:15am and nobody would be allowed to enter so all the candidates must reach at the respective centers on hour earlier.
 
In Lahore city the test centers have been conducted at the examination hall of Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Lawrence Road; Government Comprehensive Girls High School, Wahdat Road; examination halls of Punjab University, Wahdat Road and Government Pilot High School, Wahdat Road. About 12,000 students including 3,800 male and 8,200 female will sit in the test. 

The test is divided into four multiple choice questions of Physics (44 MCQs), Chemistry (58), English (30) and Biology (88). The test shall be consisting of one hour duration and after that a candidate will be take another test which will judge the aptitude of the candidates towards the related subject.

The roll number slips have already been issued and students are not permissible to take along any cell phones, laptops, calculators or notes at the examination centre and must bring their admittance card at the examination center.

The merit criteria will be taken by adding 10 percent of matriculation marks, 40 percent of intermediate marks and 50 percent of entrance test marks.

Over all there are 3,405 MBBS seats in 17 public sector medical colleges and 216 BDS seats are vacant in three public dental colleges of the province.
