In Khyber district, thirty-seven government girls’ primary schools are now closed because the government does not have enough teachers.
It has been reported by sources that 21 schools in Tehsil Landi Kotal, 12 in Tehsil Bara and 4 in Tehsil Jamrud will not operate anymore, posing a risk to the education of many female students.
It was also found that most female teachers refuse to work far from cities and there is a real shortage of qualified female teachers where local schools exist which makes it necessary to close these establishments.
