318 awarded degrees at 11th Greenwich University convocation

The Greenwich University granted 318 degrees to the students on its 11th convocation organized on Tuesday at its campus located in Phase 6, DHA.

The graduates involved the 183 undergraduate aspirants, 129 graduate aspirants, 5 MPhil fellows as well as PhD fellow.

The well-known scientist Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan as well as the chairperson of Higher Education Commission Dr Mukhtar Ahmed were the major speakers, whereas the other prominent guests comprises of the Hameed Haroon, Chief Executive Officer of Dawn Media Group; Sardar Yasin, Chairman Hilton Pharma (Pvt) Ltd; Sultana Siddiqui, Chairperson of Hum  Television Network; Siraj Aziz, Chief Executive Officer Habib Metropolitan Bank; Salman Iqbal, CEO ARY Network; Gen Muhammad Siddique, former high commissioner of Pakistan  to Mauritius; S M Munir, Chairman of the Din Group of Industries, Researcher Prof Dr AQ Mughal and fashion designer Deepak Parwani.

Almost 22 gold medals were also awarded to the brilliant candidates from every department. On the event, the university also granted the three Honoris Causa PhD degrees to Sardar Yasin Malik, Sultana Siddiqui as well as to Sirajuddin Aziz.

The chancellor of Greenwich University Seema Mughal said that the objective of the university was not just to prepare the aspirants for a better future for them, though also for the betterment of the nation and country.

Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan highlighted the requirement for conveying the ethics and morality in apsirants, saying that propagating education cannot yield the expected results if the young generation was not taught how to differentiate among the right and wrong. He moreover said that the key to success for graduates was to apply their education as well as the information in all walks of life and hence they can cover a unique path for themselves.

While sharing his experience as well as instructing the aspirants on how they can become businesspersons, Sardar Yasin Malik said that the fresh graduates must seek kicking off their own businesses for which they can team up in groups as well as utilizing their abilities constructively. He said that there was no short cut to success as well as one had to give his best to attain the largest goals in life.
