123rd Convocation organized by Punjab University

In 123rd Convocation of University of the Punjab, 100 PhD degrees, 618 MPhil or MS degrees, 289 Master’s degrees, 156 undergraduate degrees as well as 173 medals were distributed among the aspirants of Punjab University. Almost 81 medals were distributed among the aspirants of undergraduate whereas 92 medals were distributed among the master’s students. Total 1336 degrees, medals and prizes were distributed in convocation held by PU.

Vice Chancellor of University of the Punjab Prof. Dr. Mujahid Kamran has said that genocide of the Muslims is going on and they were facing destruction just because the absence of knowledge. He said that plans and strategies were being made to divide Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria and Saudi Arab into pieces. During his address he also said that comprehension of Muslims of their religion was also incorrect. He was addressing the 123rd convocation of University of the Punjab at Faisal Auditorium.

While addressing the ceremony VC of PU said that the Muslims were much unconscious that they even could not count their dead bodies and this work was completed through an Australian Jewish scientist Gideon Polya. On that occasion he also said that in his book “Body Count” Gideon Polya, an Australian Jewish scientist had unveiled that there had been 1.3 billion stoppable deaths during the period 1950 to 2005 of which 600 million were Muslims.

He also said that our journalists as well as our columnists should pay attention on these matters and focus on these issues. He said that In Past our governments, did not give proper attention to education. He said that highlighting education was a matter of understanding for both leadership as well as the individuals. He said that the US had Gross Domestic Production of 17 trillion dollars and was expending from 850 to 1000 billion dollars on education whereas it was spending from 340 to 510 billion dollars on research as well as on the development.

He moreover added that, even though, the total Gross Domestic production of Pakistan was almost 250 billion dollars whereas it was expending almost 0.2 percent on R&D and less than 2% on education. He advised the aspirants to demand politicians allot budget to education and health according to the international standards when they come to them for vote. He also congratulated the graduating aspirants and advised them to help each other.
