100 Pakistanis offered full scholarship to study in China

NANJING: On Monday, ten Pakistani aspirants started a 2-year postgraduate course at a Chinese university as part of a commercial sponsorship program to provide full scholarships for 100 Pakistani transport employees in the coming 5 years.

The program is sponsored by the China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC).

The very first batch of the ten aspirants will attend the Southeast University in Nanjing, capital of east China's Jiangsu Province.

As per the chairperson of CRBC, LU Shan, the scheme offers a golden chance for Pakistani government staff, technicians as well as the graduates to study construction and also the operation of bridges and roads at Chinese varsities.

"The China-Pakistan Economic Corridor is not just a corridor of physical connectivity, however it is also one of people-to-people exchanges," said Chen Shuai, an official along with the National Development and Reform Commission.

The China-Pakistan Economic Corridor is an essential part of China-proposed Belt as well as Road Initiative to construct a trade and the infrastructure network connecting Asia along with the Europe and Africa along and beyond the ancient Silk Road trade routes.
