Masters in Health Administration
The Master of Health Administration (or Master of Healthcare Administration) is a master's-level professional degree granted to students who complete a course of study in the knowledge and competencies needed for careers in healthcare administration, involving the management of hospitals and other health services organizations. It educates students in the private, public and nonprofit sectors of health care. This program teaches students about the problems in the industry; financial management in health services; legal issues in the delivery of health care; health information system; and managed care organizations.
Careers available for graduates with a Master of Health Administration degree. If you choose this route for your career, your responsibility may lie in directing an entire facility or a specific branch within a hospital or research facility. A master’s degree in one of a number of fields is the standard credential for most generalist positions as a medical or health care administrator.
