The Children Hospital and Institute of Child Health, Lahore applicants, undergraduate and allied health applicants have to fulfill evident academic and domicile requirements. The candidates must possess Matriculation (or equivalent) minimum of 60% marks as well as FSC (Pre-Medical) or equivalent with 60% or above in each subject. Under government policy, only Punjab domiciled candidates can vie in open-merit seats and there are specific quotas reserved in case of students of AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan as well as other provinces and disabled students. The foreign nationals can also apply against the fully paid seats though they have to be certified as being equivalent by the IBCC.

Merit Calculation Method
A sufficiently good merit calculation method is one that is based on correct principles and is representative of the labor market. The rank of the applicants is done by a simple weighted formula that is fair in the institute. A tenth of the final merit score was based on the Matriculation marks and a ninety percent based on the F.Sc. (Pre-Medical) total. There is no extra weight allowed on Hifz-e-Quran certificates as per PM&DC guidelines that will be applicable in April, 2023. This clear computation makes sure that other students of good scientific backgrounds will be given due attention when vying to get the limited seats.
Merit List Publication Schedule & Selection Process
Online admission portal is availed at the beginning of November with candidates filing applications and paying processing fees towards the end of the same month. First merit list is shown in the middle of December, second and third as required on weekly basis near the end of December. The admitted students are supposed to accept their position by paying fees within the given deadline. Classes will start mid-January whereby seats will be occupied by further counseling in case of any available seats. Updates are continuously provided on the official site of the institute to direct an applicant through various stages.
