The quality of education received by the people of Pakistan further affects many aspects of their lives like their employment, way of living and the ability to resolve conflicts.

Private sector universities are those universities that do not receive its predominant funding from government. From the earliest starting point of the 1980s, private colleges were ready to work in Pakistan. Numerous private institutes were built up in this period, yet until 1991 just two private colleges were recognized. These were the Aga Khan University, set up in 1983; and Lahore University of Management Sciences, set up in 1985.
