The College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan was established in mid-1962. The main objective of this institution is to maintain high principles of medical departments like promotion of medical professionals as well as the medical training institutes. The college has strong democratic traditions regarding various events and student council activities. All the administrative affairs of this college are independent and the members of student council are promoting all the medical related activities. Various seminars and workshops have been organized in College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan to make the students updated. The advance medical science and research technology are the main objectives of College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan. The College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan takes advice from Faculties and initiates corrective measure whenever necessary from the foreign institution such as Royal Colleges of UK, Saudi Council of Health Specialties, Kuwait, Nepal, Bangladesh and Singapore. It is also affiliated with University Of Bradford (UK) and Saudi Council of Health Specialties.
College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan abbreviated as CPSP is one of the largest postgraduate medical /surgical training center of the country. The regional centre in Faisalabad near Allied Hospital offers postgraduate / post diploma courses, examination and certification in different specialities for various categories of health professionals. It has many qualifications but its most celebrated ones are the Fellow of College of Physicians and Surgeons (FCPS) and Member of College of Physicians and Surgeons (MCPS) available in many faculties of medicine and surgery. The Faisalabad campus is part of the common CPSP Framework with substantial input in the advancement of healthcare education.
Programs Offered
CPSP is in the business of providing postgraduate training as well as certification in general and specific fields of practice namely medicine, surgery, dentistry, and so on. Two major programs are FCPS and MCPS, which gives training in clinical and academic professional proficiency. The FCPS is offered in more than 50 specialties, and MCPS is offered in 10 primary disciplines. Also, CPSP has developed the Diploma of College of Physicians and Surgeons (DCPS) as an intensive training in 14 certain specialization areas. The institution also offers courses that meet the international standards for instance the Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) course. The goal of these programs is to offer adequate qualification to produce specialized professional to meet the demands of the global health care system.
Campus Infrastructure and Facilities
The centre in Faisalabad has all the facilities to provide intensive academic and clinical education. It has sophisticated halls for lectures, examinations and has a full stocked medical library with current information. The fact that Erasmus is neighbor to the Allied Hospital allows students to practice in a real life setting. Se also organizes workshops, conferences and interactive meeting sessions to enhance interaction among the intending trainees and medical practitioners. These facilities demonstrate the CPSP Faisalabad’s determinedly to provide the standard international medical education and professional training.
