Cadet College Wana Dera Ismail Khan

On 17 August, 2011, the President of Pakistan, Asif Ali Zardari, under Article 247 (5) of the Constitution of Islamic Republic of Pakistan, approved and signed the regulations for "Establishment of Cadet College Wana in South Waziristan Agency" as advised by the Prime Minister in terms of rule 15(A) of the rules of business, 1973, the President also empowered the Board of the Cadet College to make rules, with the prior approval of the Federal Government, for carrying out the purposes of the regulation. The rules are notified in the official gazette.

The establishment of an eminent institution like Cadet College Wana attains an added importance as it is the first institution of its kind in South Waziristan Agency, which is aimed at producing a quality product for which the best availability intake has been inducted. The College provides tremendous opportunities to tribal youth in terms of quality education, which will have far reaching effects on socio-economic uplift of the area.
