Islamic finance is a viable alternative to conventional economic systems: Anwar Ibrahim
Prime Minister of Malaysia, Anwar Ibrahim, expressed his gratitude to Chairman and President UMT, Ibrahim Hasan Murad, for honoring him with an invitation to the 6th Global Forum on Islamic Economics, Finance and Banking.
In a special video message, the Malaysian Prime Minister warmly addressed Ibrahim Hasan Murad as his “brother,” highlighting a deep sense of fraternity and mutual respect.
This gesture reflected the strong bilateral relations between Malaysia and Pakistan and underscored the spirit of cooperation and unity beyond the borders.
Anwar Ibrahim paid tribute to Dr. Khurshid Ahmad for his contributions to the field of Islamic economics. He said that Dr. Khurshid devoted his life to the practical advancement of the welfare of the Muslim Ummah. As a pioneer of Islamic finance, his invaluable services and legacy can never be forgotten, Anwar Ibrahim added.
He further stated that Dr. Khurshid Ahmad’s vision, intellectual leadership and practical contributions played a pivotal role in laying the foundation of modern Islamic economic thought.
Malaysian Prime Minister stated that the forum was not just an academic gathering, but a platform for practical solutions to implement Islamic finance, emphasizing actionable steps to make it a viable alternative to conventional economic models.
