Once the matriculation result has been announced, the Intermediate and Higher Secondary boards across the country open their admissions in all Government intermediate colleges in F.Sc, F.A and I.com. To seek admission in these grades the student should have passed matric exams form a registered Pakistani board or 0-levels from the Cambridge board or an equivalent examination. Thus a certification of completion of at least ten years of education is necessary to apply for intermediate part one classes.
Parallel to the public admission process, private colleges also open their admissions in such classes, however, some colleges complete their registration prior to the announcement of matriculation result. These admissions are based on the previous academic record as well as the college-specific entry test.
Admissions are also granted to the GCEO-level students with English, Urdu, Islamiat and Pakistan studies as compulsory subjects along with elective science subjects with mathematics. The Inter Board Committee of Chairman grants an equivalency certificate to such students prior to taking any further admission.

Students who want to take admission in FSc. Can choose among three groups
Pre-Engineering with Physics, Chemistry Mathematics as core Subjects.
Pre-Medicine with Physics, Chemistry, Biology as core subjects and
Computer science with physics, computer science and Mathematics as core subjects
Islamiat, Pakistan studies, Urdu and English are compulsory subjects for every FSc. student.
The students applying for admission in FSC. Pre-Medial or Pre-Engineering group after their matriculation level must have passed matriculation in science subjects: Physics, chemistry, biology and mathematics with at least 60% marks along with the compulsory subjects from a recognized institute.
Applicants with O levels or equivalent examination must have passed a minimum of eight subjects including English, Urdu, Pakistan Studies, Islamiyat and Mathematics.
The O-level students require at least 60% marks in biology to get admission in FSC. Pre-medical group while at least 60% marks in mathematics are required to get admission in FSC.Pre-engineering group.
Admissions are purely merit-based and some specific colleges only accept the cream. However, the other students are admitted to colleges near their residential zones. To pursue this process an online, as well as printed form, is submitted in the board office in which the student mentions his/her preferred college in a list. The admission is granted on the total marks and zonal vicinity. Private colleges have set their own standard or admissions but the previous academic achievement is mandatory to cater the merit.
Very nominal Fees are taken in Govt colleges ranging around 2000-3000Rs.for the examination while private colleges take a handsome monthly amount as tuition fees which varies according to the faculty and facilities they are providing.
Admissions are also granted to failures or for those who want to appear in both part one and two exams in a single year .These students are taken as special cases and the details are available at intermediate board official websites.
Though there are not many professional jobs available for a high school pass out. There are some technical institutes which offer job-guaranteed training or internship. Online jobs are also available for talented students.
Students who pursue their studies in the pre-medical group can join medically related fields in future like they can become doctor, pharmacist, microbiologist, dentist and biochemist etc.
Students who pursue their studies in the pre-engineering group can graduate in engineering sciences and can become future engineers. They can also choose IT as their career. These students can take physics, chemistry, and statistics to complete their graduation or research.
