HIGHER EDUCATION IN MARINE BIOLOGY

MPhil & PhD ADMISSIONS 2026-2027

The Centre of Excellence in Marine Biology (CEMB) is a Higher Education Institute offering MPhil and PhD degree programmes in Marine Biology. The degrees are awarded by the University of Karachi in accordance with the prescribed eligibility criteria.

ELIGIBILITY

MPhil PROGRAMME:
BS/MSc with at least 2nd Class in Biological and Physical Sciences (with Biology background).

PhD PROGRAMME:
MPhil Degree in Marine Biology or equivalent with course work.

PROCEDURE

Application forms can be downloaded at www.marinebiology.edu.pk, or obtained from the office of the Director, Centre of Excellence in Marine Biology, University of Karachi.

a) Duly completed application form, along with attested photocopies of CNIC, certificates, degrees, transcripts, domicile, and non-refundable processing fee of Rs. 8,000/- through pay order in favour of the Director Centre of Excellence in Marine Biology University of Karachi, and must be submitted to the office of Director CEMB.

b) Candidates waiting for the BS/M.Sc. Results may also apply, with the proof of Results of the last two semesters should be attested by the head of the Department.

c) Limited Scholarships are available on purely Merit.

d) In-service candidates are required to apply through proper channel along with an official NOC.

e) The applications, complete in all respect, should reach the undersigned on or before October 26, 2026, at 04:30 p.m. A soft copy of complete application in MS Word format must be submitted through e-mail at cembku@gmail.com

f) Incomplete and the Applications received After Due Date will NOT be entertained.

g) Following the initial scrutiny, eligible candidates will be required to appear in the written/entry test and an interview. The schedule and details will be communicated to candidate via e-mail/surface mail.

Note: Admissions will be granted based on the candidate's previous academic record, performance in the entrance test and interview.
