POSTGRADUATE ENTRANCE TEST (PGET) 2026

FOR ADMISSION TO LEVEL III POSTGRADUATE MEDICAL AND DENTAL PROGRAMS UNDER THE CENTRAL INDUCTION POLICY, JANUARY 2027 INTAKE

The University of Health Sciences (UHS), Lahore, shall conduct the Postgraduate Entrance Test (PGET) 2026 on Sunday, 25 October 2026 for admission to Level III Postgraduate Medical and Dental Programs in public-sector institutions under the Central Induction Policy (CIP) of the Government of Punjab.

The eligibility requirements, format of the test and registration procedure shall be as follows:

(A) ELIGIBILITY

A candidate shall be eligible to appear in the PGET, subject to fulfillment of all applicable requirements, including the following:

1. Possession of an MBBS or BDS degree awarded by an institution recognized by the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PM&DC).

2. Successful completion of a one year House Job in a hospital recognized by the PM&DC.

3. Valid permanent registration with the PM&DC.

4. Possession of Punjab domicile for open merit and disability quota seats.

5. Age on the last date of submission of application must be less than 40 years.

6. In case of foreign candidates, they shall possess NOC/Study Visa from Ministry of Interior, Government of Pakistan / NOC from Home Department.

(B) POSTGRADUATE ENTRANCE TEST (PGET)

1. Passing the PGET scheduled for Sunday, 25 October 2026, shall be mandatory for induction into Level III Postgraduate Medical and Dental Programs, including MD, MS, MDS and FCPS, under the Central Induction Policy for the January 2027 intake.

2. The minimum passing score shall be 75 percentile.

3. The PGET shall comprise two (02) papers:

MEDICAL & DENTAL SPECIALTIES (Paper II)

For MBBS Graduates:

4. The marks obtained in the PGET shall carry 75 percent weightage in the calculation of admission merit.

5. The Table of Specifications (ToS) for the PGET shall be available on the official UHS website: www.uhs.edu.pk

(C) REGISTRATION

1. Eligible candidates may register for the PGET through the online portal available at the UHS website https://admissions.uhs.edu.pk/pget with effect from Sunday, 23 August 2026.

2. After logging into the portal, the candidate shall complete the online registration form, upload scanned copies of all original documents required by the portal, and submit the completed online application.

3. The candidate shall download the challan for the PGET Processing Fee of Rs. 10,000/-. The fee shall be non-refundable and non-transferable. Candidates may submit application processing fee at the designated link available at the UHS online portal within the stipulated deadline.

4. The online application shall be editable till the last date for submission of applications. No editing shall be allowed after the deadline for submission of application.

5. The PGET shall be conducted simultaneously at centres located in Lahore, Faisalabad, Multan and Rawalpindi. Candidates shall select their preferred test city and specialty at the time of registration. No change in the selected test city or specialty shall be permitted after the final submission of the application by the stipulated deadline.

(D) REGISTRATION SCHEDULE

IMPORTANT NOTES

1. Passing the PGET shall be mandatory for admission to Level III Postgraduate Medical and Dental Programs under the Central Induction Policy of the Government of Punjab from January 2027 intake.

2. Passing the PGET shall NOT, by itself, confer any right or entitlement to admission to any Level III Postgraduate Medical or Dental Program. Admission shall remain subject to fulfillment of all applicable eligibility requirements, merit criteria, seat availability and other provisions of the Central Induction Policy.

3. An incomplete application shall be rejected and shall not be considered for further processing.

4. Candidates shall be responsible for ensuring that the information and documents submitted through the online portal are complete, accurate and authentic. Any application found to contain incomplete, incorrect or false information shall be liable to rejection in accordance with the applicable rules.
