MEDICAL ENRICHMENT PROGRAM FOR MBBS STUDENTS

Track 1 — A 6-Year (1+5) Program

Year 1 at LUMS, followed by 5 years of MBBS at SMDC.

Track 2 — A 5-Year MBBS Program

5-year MBBS program at SMDC, with elective courses at LUMS during the summer semesters.

Shahid Hussain Foundation provides a full-year scholarship @ LUMS (Track 1).

RESEARCH

At our institution, research is not an elective; it is the foundation of excellence. From the very first year, undergraduate students are mentored by experienced faculty and trained in research methodology.

STUDENT ACHIEVEMENTS

• Won the Best Poster Award at the International Student Research Conference (ISRC) held at Aga Khan University (AKU).

• Won the 1st Position in the 5th Annual General Knowledge Quiz Competition at CMH Lahore.

• Won the Best Delegation Award in Arthur C. Guyton Physio Quest (ACGPQ) Quiz Competition at FMH Lahore.

• An SMDC medical student represented Pakistan at the Asian Science Camp 2025 in Thailand, alongside participants from 22 other countries.

These activities are fully funded by the institution to provide students with this academic exposure, which prepares our graduates to do more than learn medicine.

SCHOLARSHIPS & FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

Full Merit Scholarship for the 5-Year MBBS Program

The High Achievers Scholarship is awarded on the basis of each applicant's merit aggregate, subject to the number of applications received and the availability of seats.

• Few seats with 100% scholarship for the full five-year program are available for students with high merit.

• Minimum criteria: Admission offer from public sector medical colleges in any province in Pakistan.

Financial Assistance Program

Available throughout the 5-year MBBS, this program has disbursed more than PKR 21 million to 8% of SMDC students.
