ADMISSION NOTICE

Public Sector Medical and Dental Colleges – Session 2026-27

1. INTRODUCTION

Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University (SZABMU), Islamabad, being the Admitting University, invites applications for admission in First Year, Bachelor of Medicine & Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) and Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) programs in the following Public Sector Medical and Dental Colleges under the Administrative Control of the Federal Government.

3. QUOTA REQUIREMENTS

Applicants desirous of admission against subject quota need to submit a document issued by the concerned authority certifying that the applicant is eligible against the quota, i.e.:

  • Applicant Domicile Certificate

  • Federal Government Employees Certificate

  • Disability Certificate (as applicable)

In addition to the domicile certificate, applicants (applying on the basis of domicile) will have to provide proof of residence/property/education or any tangible evidence of stay in the region of domicile.

4. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

In accordance with the "PM&DC Medical and Dental Undergraduate Education (Admissions, Curriculum and Conduct) Policy and Regulations 2025" , the basic eligibility criteria for admissions are as follows:

(a) Academic Qualification

  • Minimum 60% marks in HSSC Pre-Medical or an equivalent 12th grade qualification (passed the subjects of Biology, Chemistry and either Physics or Mathematics) recognized in Pakistan duly certified by the Inter-Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC).

(b) MDCAT Requirement

  • Passed the Medical & Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) 2026, 2025 and 2024 of SZABMU, UHS, KMU, BUMHS, IBA Sukkur with:

    • Minimum 55% marks for MBBS

    • Minimum 50% marks for BDS

5. MERIT DETERMINATION

The merit determination formula is as under:

6. ADMISSION PROCEDURE

Eligible applicants are required to visit the SZABMU Website: https://admission.szabmu.edu.pk/public/

Key Points:

i. The application process shall be completely online. Manual or paper-based applications shall not be accepted.

ii. Only completed and submitted online applications will be considered for admissions.

iii. For filling the online application form, the applicant shall first register on the web portal with the help of his/her CNIC/NICOP/Passport, e-mail ID and a password.

iv. After registration, applicants are required to complete the online application form requiring the following steps:

  • (a) Personal Information

  • (b) MDCAT Information

  • (c) Academic Information

  • (d) Upload Scanned Copies of documents

  • (e) Applicants shall have to apply separately for Medical or Dental program

  • (f) Applicant will take print of application processing fee challan from online admission portal and deposit the fee and upload the challan form on admission portal.

v. Separate application processing fee will be charged for each program:

  • MBBS = Rs. 3,000/-

  • BDS = Rs. 3,000/-

  • (Non-refundable/non-adjustable)

vi. Application form once submitted cannot be changed by the applicant.

7. MANDATORY DOCUMENTS REQUIRED

(A) For All Applicants:

vii Scanned copy of application processing paid fee challan (Separate for MBBS and BDS)

(B) Additional Mandatory Documents for Foreign Seats:

i. Candidate must hold a permanent Foreign Nationality or is an Overseas Pakistani (being a Pakistani citizen permanently residing in a foreign country), Green Card Holder, Iqama Holder, Maple Card Holder.

ii. Has studied and passed the intermediate/FSc/HSSC 12th grade examination or equivalent from within or outside Pakistan, duly accompanied by an equivalence certificate issued by the IBCC and must provide proof of study from the last attended institution.

iii. Applicant must upload one of the following documents:

  • Valid Iqama

  • Residence Permit

  • Green Card

  • Maple Card

  • Foreign Passport

(C) Additional Mandatory Documents for Quota:

i. Disability Certificate issued by Federal/Provincial Government Disability Board describing the nature of disability (For seats of disabled quota only).

ii. Parent Employment Certificate issued by relevant Federal Government Institution (For seats of Federal Govt. Employees only).

8. IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS

i. The entire process of submission of application is online; hence, there is no need to submit a hard copy of the application to the University.

ii. Incomplete/not submitted/deficient application forms shall not be entertained. Application once submitted shall be considered final.

iii. It should be noted that any applicant who does not meet the eligibility criteria will not be considered for admission.

iv. As per "PM&DC Medical and Dental Undergraduate Education (Admissions, Curriculum and Conduct) Policy and Regulations 2025", admissions to medical and dental programs shall be conducted separately and each student shall be required to apply separately for medical or dental program. No applicant is eligible for admission without application submission to respective program.

v. Applicants applying on disabled quota seats must furnish disability certificate from a Federal/Provincial Government Disability Board describing the nature of disability and other relevant documents before the Medical Examination Board of SZABMU. Certificate issued by Public/Private medical practitioner shall not be considered.

vi. Applicants applying for admissions shall give an order of preference for Public Sector Medical and Dental Colleges. A college not included in the preference list of applicant shall not be considered for grant of admission.

vii. Applicants from Ex-FATA must submit domicile verification from the respective Deputy/Assistant Commissioner as per the specimen available on the website: https://admission.szabmu.edu.pk/public/. Without this certificate their application forms will not be entertained.

viii. Applicants applying on Federal Government Employee quota must submit the Parent Employment certificate issued by relevant Federal Government Institution as per the specimen available on the website: https://admission.szabmu.edu.pk/public/. Without this certificate their application forms will not be entertained.

ix. Original scanned documents to be uploaded in JPEG or JPG format only and file size should not exceed 512KB per document.

x. The applicant is solely responsible for uploading the documents in the appropriate manner. Failure to upload the correct documents will lead to the rejection of the application without any notice for which the University shall not be responsible.

xi. The selected applicant shall have to deposit their fee (after securing position in merit list) within due date, failing which the provisional admission will be deemed cancelled and the next applicant on the waiting merit list will be offered admission in order to facilitate timely completion of admission process.

xii. Once applicant is offered admission according to his/her merit and quota, it will be final and will not be changed.

xiii. The University shall cancel any provisional admission where the credentials of a student are not verified at any stage of the process.

xiv. Any applicant found to have submitted forged certificates or fake documents/information at any stage of admission shall be debarred from admission to any Medical/Dental institution under the rules. The admission of the applicant shall stand CANCELLED.

xv. No separate call letters will be issued for interviews/placement of applicants. All such information will be available on the official website of SZABMU: www.szabmu.edu.pk till the completion of admission process.
