CORRIGENDUM
NATIONAL RESEARCH PROGRAMME FOR UNIVERSITIES (NRPU)
CALL FOR RESEARCH PROPOSALS (2026-27)
BACKGROUND
In continuation of the Higher Education Commission's advertisement for the National Research Programme for Universities (NRPU), published on September 6, 2026, in national dailies and through HEC's social media platforms for inviting research proposals, the following amendments/relaxations are hereby notified:
AMENDMENTS / RELAXATIONS
1. Application Fee

| Payment of application fee of Rs. 5,000/- through 1-LINK/1-Bill service using mobile or internet banking | Exempted – No application fee shall be charged from applicants submitting research proposals under the current NRPU call |
Detail: The requirement for payment of the application fee of Rs. 5,000/- through the 1-LINK/1-Bill service using mobile or internet banking is hereby exempted. Accordingly, no application fee shall be charged from applicants submitting research proposals under the current NRPU call.
2. Delayed / Unsettled NRPU Cases

| Universities having more than five (05) delayed/unsettled NRPU cases are not eligible to apply | Relaxed/Exempted – All universities shall be eligible to submit research proposals under the current NRPU call |
Detail: The condition that universities having more than five (05) delayed/unsettled NRPU cases are not eligible to apply is hereby relaxed/exempted. Accordingly, all universities shall be eligible to submit research proposals under the current NRPU call, subject to fulfillment of all other eligibility criteria and requirements prescribed in the original advertisement.
3. Other Terms and Conditions
Detail: All other terms, conditions, eligibility criteria, and requirements of the original NRPU advertisement shall remain unchanged.

The above corrigendum shall be read as an integral part of the original NRPU advertisement.
