ADMISSION NOTICE

Medical & Dental Colleges — Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

MBBS / BDS Session 2026–27

BACKGROUND & AUTHORITY

Consequent upon the approval granted by the Provincial Cabinet in its meeting held on 27.06.2024, Khyber Medical University is declared as the admitting university for conducting a transparent and centralized Medical and Dental Colleges Admission Test (MDCAT) for the academic session 2024–25 & onwards, and to make admissions to MBBS/BDS in all public and private sector Medical & Dental Colleges of the province.

Reference: SOHIE-M2-18/KMU/MDCAT TEST 2024, dated 22nd July 2024, issued by Department of Health, Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

INVITATION FOR APPLICATIONS

Khyber Medical University (KMU) invites applications from candidates desirous of admission in MBBS/BDS in the following Public Sector Medical and Dental Colleges of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and for reciprocal seats in AJK & Punjab.

Note: Candidates are required to apply separately for KMU Institute of Medical Sciences, Kohat and KMU Institute of Dental Sciences, Kohat.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

1. The candidate must have passed F.Sc (Pre-Medical) 12th grade or equivalent qualification from any BISE in Pakistan or abroad, obtaining minimum 60% marks in Higher Secondary School Certificate.

2. The candidates who have passed the Medical & Dental Colleges Admission Test (MDCAT-2024 or MDCAT-2025 or MDCAT-2026) with minimum:

   • 55% marks for MBBS

   • 50% marks for BDS

3. The candidates having domicile of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa & Merged Districts (MDs).

HOW TO APPLY

KMU has become fully paperless, and hard copies of application forms through postal/courier are not acceptable. Therefore, candidates shall have to apply online at the KMU Admissions website:

Follow on-screen instructions to complete the process.

Note: Keep your original Fee slip, to be produced as evidence during the admission process.

IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS

1. Incomplete/deficient application forms shall not be entertained. No admission forms will be accepted by hand or through mail/courier.

2. Applicants from MDs/Ex-FATA and Backward Areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa shall submit their certificates of location of institutes as per specimen uploaded on the KMU Admissions website (http://cas.kmu.edu.pk). Without this certificate, their application will not be entertained.

3. Applicants shall list college(s) for admission in order of priority in the designated fields provided in the online form.

4. Applicants selected for any category shall have to deposit their fee after receiving the admission offer, within three (03) working days in KMU accounting. Failing which, the next applicant on the merit list will be offered admission for timely completion of the admission process. The allocation of seats in respective categories in Medical & Dental Colleges is available on the website cas.kmu.edu.pk.

5. Those eligible for applying against Open Merit Seats can also opt for admission against Reciprocal Seats available for domicile holders of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Similarly, MDs/Ex-FATA domicile holder candidates can also opt for the medical colleges of Azad Jammu & Kashmir and other provinces of Pakistan on quota basis. The MDs/Ex-FATA domicile holders cannot apply for Open Merit seats of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

6. KMU shall make admissions on:

   • Open Merit Seats

   • General Self-Finance Seats

   • Foreign Self-Finance Seats

   • MDs/Ex-FATA Seats

   • Disabled Seats

   • KP Backward Areas Seats

   • Minorities Seats

   • Children of Overseas Pakistanis / Dual Nationality Holders

   • Reciprocal Seats

   • APS, etc.

7. Any candidate found to have submitted forged certificates or fake documents/information at any stage of admission shall be debarred from admission to any Medical/Dental institution under the rules. The admission of the candidate shall stand CANCELLED.

8. If any point is not clear regarding the admission process in the advertisement, then the KMU Undergraduate Education (Admissions, Admission Policy and Curriculum and Conduct) Rules 2025 will be consulted for final decision.

9. No separate call letters will be issued for interview/placement till placement of candidates. All such information will be available on the official website and official Facebook page of KMU (http://cas.kmu.edu.pk).
