1. INTRODUCTION

In compliance with the Admission Policy notified by the Specialized Healthcare & Medical Education Department, Government of Punjab (14th October 2026), the University of Health Sciences (UHS), Lahore, invites online applications from eligible candidates for admission to first year MBBS and BDS programmes in private sector medical and dental colleges in Punjab for the academic session 2026-2027.

5. APPLICATION PROCEDURE

Step 1 – Review Admission Policy: Carefully review the Admission Policy notified by the Government of Punjab for session 2026-2027, available on the UHS website (www.uhs.edu.pk).

Step 2 – Access Online Portal: Access the relevant UHS Online Admission Portal (separate portals for MBBS and BDS programmes, which shall open on specified dates).

Step 3 – Registration: Register by providing:

CNIC/Passport/CRC number
Cell phone number
Password

Step 4 – Complete Profile Section: Upon logging in, provide personal details including name, domicile, contact information, address, nationality, gender, date of birth, etc.

Step 5 – Select Seat Category: Choose the seat category for which you are eligible:

(a) Open Merit
(b) Overseas Pakistani / Dual National (Expatriate)

Step 6 – Enter Educational Qualifications: Provide SSC and HSSC marks, year of passing, subjects studied, etc., along with MDCAT score details.

Step 7 – Upload Documents: Upload scanned copies of required documents in PNG or JPG format. Each file must be clear, legible, and not exceed 500 KB.

Step 8 – Choose Colleges in Order of Preference: Select colleges from the dropdown menu. There is no limitation on the number of colleges. A candidate shall not be considered for a college not selected in his/her preference list.

Step 9 – Generate Fee Challan: Generate a challan for the non-refundable, non-transferable application processing fee of Rs. 2,000/- and deposit it at:

Bank of Punjab (BOP), or
National Bank of Pakistan (NBP)

Through branch banking or via the 1Link Invoice facility only.

Step 10 – Review & Submit: Review and print the application before final submission. After the submission deadline, preferences become final and unchangeable. However, the number and order of college preferences cannot be modified after submission.

6. MANDATORY DOCUMENTS REQUIRED

Applicants must upload the following documents along with their online applications. Failure to submit required documents shall render the application liable to rejection:

Matriculation and Higher Secondary School Certificate (SSC) or equivalent certificates/result cards, attested by the relevant Board of Intermediate & Secondary Education (BISE). For foreign qualifications, the relevant IBCC Equivalence Certificate must be provided, duly attested by IBCC.
Domicile Certificate – Only the domicile certificate of the applicant shall be acceptable. (Not mandatory for Overseas Pakistanis/Dual Nationals/Expatriates.)
Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) or B-Form of the applicant.
CNIC of the applicant's father, mother, or guardian.
Valid Iqama/Residence Permit/Green Card/Foreign Passport of the applicant (in case applying on Overseas Pakistani/Dual National/Expatriate seat).

9. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

MDCAT

Candidates must have passed MDCAT (2026/2025/2024) with at least 50% marks for MBBS and 50% marks for BDS.

Overseas Pakistanis/Dual Nationals (Expatriates) may submit:

MDCAT scores, OR
SAT scores (minimum 550 in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics/Mathematics), OR
MCAT (International) or UCAT with 50% marks.

Qualification

Applicants must have passed HSSC (Pre-Medical) or an equivalent 12th-grade qualification recognized by IBCC, with Biology, Chemistry, and Physics/Mathematics, including:

Biology
Chemistry
Physics/Mathematics

Overseas Pakistani/Dual National (Expatriate) candidates having passed Intermediate/SSC/A-Level qualifications (within or outside Pakistan) with Biology and Chemistry as mandatory subjects and remaining subjects as optional are eligible for MBBS/BDS admission against reserved seats.

Seat Quota

15% quota for Overseas Pakistani/Dual National (Expatriate) in medical and dental colleges.
Where any seat of the 15% quota remains vacant due to non-availability of eligible candidates, it shall be transferred to Open Merit, and the admitted candidate shall pay the requisite fee.
National holding domicile of any district of Punjab shall be eligible only for open merit seats.

10. ADMISSION PROCEDURE (FEE & SELECTION)

Fee Deposit (Rs. 600,000/-)

Candidates on the merit list must deposit Rs. 600,000/- in the designated UHS account within three (03) working days after display of the merit list. The challan may be downloaded from the admission portal. Failure to deposit within the deadline shall lead to cancellation of the admission offer, and the seat will be offered to the next candidate on merit.

Remaining College Fee

After finalization of admission, candidates shall pay the remaining college fee directly to the concerned college. Tuition fee may be paid quarterly, half-yearly, or annually in accordance with PM&DC Regulations. The Rs. 600,000/- deposited with UHS shall be transferred to the respective colleges after completion of admissions.

Upgradation Option

Students admitted in private institutions may exercise the option to forego the right of upgradation at the time of joining. Candidates shall submit duly signed consent for retention or upgradation at the concerned college, choosing either:

(i) To retain the allocated seat, OR
(ii) To opt for upgradation in subsequent lists as per UHS procedure.

The option, once availed, shall attain finality and shall neither be revoked nor modified at any subsequent stage.

Retention (No Upgradation)

A candidate admitted to the college listed as his/her last preference, or who opts to retain the allotted college without seeking upgradation, shall submit original documents and pay the remaining college fee (excluding Rs. 600,000/- paid online) within three working days of the display of the selection list in which his/her name appears.

Upgradation Opted

A candidate who opts for upgradation shall not be required to pay any fee to the initially allotted college, apart from the Rs. 600,000/- already deposited online with UHS upon first appearance of his/her name in any selection list. The remaining college fee shall be payable to the college in which the candidate's admission is ultimately finalized.

11. IMPORTANT PROVISIONS REGARDING ADMISSIONS

Verification of College Details: Candidates are required to thoroughly verify the fee structure, location, and facilities offered by the colleges they select. It is strongly recommended that they physically visit the respective colleges or review information on official websites prior to finalizing preferences. This is advised to prevent inconvenience at a later stage.

Separate Applications: Admissions to medical and dental programmes shall be conducted separately. Each student must apply using separate portals for each programme. No applicant is eligible for admission without separate application submission to the respective programme on the relevant portal.

Cancellation: If a candidate is found to have submitted forged/fabricated information, the application shall be cancelled, and all merit lists and selections shall be withdrawn. Action shall be taken against the candidate per applicable rules.

Merit Lists: All merit lists and selection lists shall be published on the UHS website (www.uhs.edu.pk). The University shall not send separate call letters. Candidates must regularly check the website and comply with announced deadlines and directions.
