Government Islamia College Civil Lines Lahore is one of the first-ranked educational institutes in Punjab. Government Islamia College started Intermediate classes in 1888 while classes at the graduate level in 1892 and finally postgraduate classes in 1895.

 

The name of the college was attributed to the Hindu leader Swami Dayanand Sarasvati, the founder of the Arya Samaj moment.
