Government College University, Lahore or most commonly known as GCU is a government sector university located in the center of Lahore. The well-known graduates of the varsity involve two Nobel Prize winners Abdus Salam and Har Gobind Khorana and also our national poet & philosopher Allama Muhammad Iqbal.

GCU is one of the oldest institutes in Pakistan. Furthermore, it is one of the oldest educational institutes of higher learning in the entire Muslim world.

Admissions

GCU, Lahore opens admissions in 1st year or inter part 1 soon after the declaration of matriculation exams result and also published the admission advertisements in various well-known newspapers of the country for this purpose.

Applying Process

Government College University now opens the admissions for intermediate part 1 and the successful candidates can now get the prospectuses along with admission forms from July 17, 2025, till August 10, 2025, during bank hours from the following branches of HBL & UBL.

o   Habib Bank Limited, GCU Lahore branch

o   United Bank Limited, GCU Lahore branch

Students are required to submit the duly filled application forms by August 10, 2025, in the same branch from where they get the form.

Required Documents

Candidates are advised to attach the following attested documents along with their admission forms.

o   Attested Photocopy of Matriculation/O'Level/Equivalent Certificate.  (Four)

o   Attested Character Certificate from the Head of your school.  (One)

o   Attested Photocopy of CNIC of Father/Guardian.  (One)

o   Attested recent photographs 1.5” x 1.5”  (Three)

In case, if a student is Overseas Pakistani:

o   Employment Certificate or proof of Business/ housing status of the parents in an overseas country.

Important Note for students

o   The aspirants who have done matric from the board other than BISE Lahore must bring their original CNIC at the time of interview.

o   The aspirants who wish to apply in more than one category are required to submit a separate form for each category.  

o   The college offer intermediate admissions only to the male candidates.
