PhD / MPhil / MS Programs – Spring Session 2026

Khyber Medical University (KMU), Peshawar, invites applications from eligible Pakistani nationals (male and female) for admission to the following PhD, MPhil, and MS programs for the Spring Session 2026.

Programs Offered & Eligibility Criteria

Institute of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (IPMR), Peshawar

PhD Programs

a. PhD Physical Therapy

• Master’s degree in Physical Therapy or equivalent in the relevant field

• Degree must be from an HEC-recognized institution

• Minimum CGPA: 3.00/4.00 (semester system) or 60% marks (annual system)

• Institutional Graduate Entry Test (IGET) with 70% passing marks
  OR
  GRE with 60% passing marks

b. PhD Medical Laboratory Sciences

• BS Medical Laboratory Technology (16 years) with MS/MPhil (18 years) in one of the following:

  • Medical Laboratory Sciences

  • Biochemistry

  • Molecular Biology

  • Microbiology

  • Hematology

  • Biotechnology

  • Transfusion Medicine

  • Immunology

  • Human Genetics
    OR

• BSc Medical Laboratory Technology (14 years) with MSc (16 years) in relevant discipline and MPhil (18 years) in Medical Laboratory Sciences or allied fields

• Minimum CGPA: 3.00/4.00 or 60% marks

• IGET (70%) or GRE (60%)

Institute of Paramedical Sciences (IPMS), Peshawar

MPhil / MS Programs

a. MS / MPhil Physical Therapy

• Four-year BS Physical Therapy (BSPT) or Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT)

• Degree from an HEC-recognized university

• Minimum CGPA: 2.5

b. MPhil Medical Laboratory Sciences

• BS MLT (16 years)
  OR

• BSc MLT (14 years) with MSc (16 years) in:

  • Medical Laboratory Technology

  • Biochemistry

  • Molecular Biology

  • Microbiology

  • Hematology

  • Biotechnology

  • Transfusion Medicine

  • Human Genetics

• Minimum CGPA: 2.5

c. MS Optometry

• BS Optometry (4 years) or Doctor of Optometry (5 years)

• Degree from an HEC-recognized university

• Minimum CGPA: 2.5

d. MS Occupational Therapy

• BS Occupational Therapy (4 years) or equivalent

• Degree from an HEC-recognized university

• Minimum CGPA: 2.5

e. MS Prosthetics & Orthotics

• BS Prosthetics & Orthotics (4 years) or equivalent

• Degree from an HEC-recognized university

• Minimum CGPA: 2.5

Transitional Program

Transitional BS Prosthetics & Orthotics

• Three-year Bachelor of Science in Prosthetics & Orthotics

• Degree from an HEC-recognized university

• Passing of entrance test is mandatory

General Conditions

1. Admission is open to all Pakistani nationals (male and female).

2. Passing the entrance test is mandatory for admission.

3. Candidates applying for PhD programs must submit a one-page Statement of Purpose.

4. Final admission will be granted on the basis of merit, test, and interview.
