Admissions Announcement – 2026

The University of Health Sciences (UHS), Lahore invites applications for the following academic programs in the field of medical writing, editing, and journalism:

• Diploma in Medical Writing & Journalism (Dip-MWJ) – Batch I

• Certificate in Medical Editing (CME) – Batch VIII

• Certificate in Medical Journalism for Editors (CMJE) – Batch IV

These programs are designed to enhance professional skills in medical writing, peer review, editing, and health journalism through a blended learning model.

📘 Diploma in Medical Writing & Journalism (Dip-MWJ)

Duration

1 Year and 3 Months, comprising three modules:

• Module I: Certificate in Medical Editing (CME) – 06 Months

• Module II: Certificate in Medical Journalism for Editors (CMJE) – 06 Months

• Module III: Research Report – 03 Months

Contact Sessions

• Four (04) contact sessions during the first year

• Each session: 04 days (09:00 AM – 05:00 PM)

Exit Points

Students may exit after:

• Module I: Award of Certificate in Medical Editing (Portfolio + Viva Exam)

• Module II: Award of Certificate in Medical Journalism for Editors (Portfolio + Viva Exam)

Fee Structure

• Dip-MWJ: Rs. 170,000/- (Including Examination Fee)

📗 Certificate in Medical Editing (CME)

Duration

• 06 Months

• Two (02) contact sessions of four days each

Fee

• Rs. 60,000/- (Including Examination Fee)

📙 Certificate in Medical Journalism for Editors (CMJE)

Duration

• 06 Months

• Two (02) contact sessions of four days each

• Second contact session held at the UHS Journal Office (Internship Rotation)

Fee

• Rs. 90,000/- (Including Examination Fee)

🎓 Eligibility Criteria

For CME & Dip-MWJ

• MBBS / BDS

• Graduate in Allied Health Sciences, Nursing, Physiotherapy, Pharmacy, Health Informatics, etc.

• Preference will be given to candidates already associated with medical/health sciences journals as:

  • Editors

  • Assistant Editors

  • Managing Editors

  • Reviewers

  • Editorial Board Members

• Candidates with prior publications will be preferred.

For CMJE

• Must have successfully completed the six-month CME course

• Must be actively attached to a medical/health sciences journal in an editorial capacity

1. Visit the UHS Online Admission Portal for Postgraduate Programs at: www.uhs.edu.pk

2. Create an account with your personal details.

3. Select your desired program (Dip-MWJ, CME, CMJE).

4. Fill in required personal and academic information.

5. Upload scanned documents (maximum 2 MB each).

6. Read and acknowledge the undertaking.

7. Submit the application online.

8. Download and print the application form and bank challan.

9. Deposit the non-refundable admission fee of Rs. 2,000/- at any Bank of Punjab branch or via 1Bill online banking.

Admission process is complete only after fee submission.
