As directed by the Government of Punjab, since 1999 the University of Engineering and Technology Lahore (UET Lahore) has been conducting the Combined Entrance Test (ECAT) for admission to public sector engineering institutions of Punjab.

As per notifications of the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC), this Entrance Test is mandatory for admission into undergraduate engineering programs of public and private engineering institutions.

• This is the First ECAT for 2026.

• Applicants may attempt multiple ECATs; the best score will be considered for merit determination.

• ECAT 2026 score will be valid for Fall 2026 admissions at UET Lahore.

• No negative marking.

• No minimum passing threshold for any program.

1. Orientation Session

A 15-minute orientation session (computer-based test familiarization) will be held on:

2. Entrance Test Dates

📅 March 30, 2026 – April 03, 2026 (Monday–Friday)
Venue, date, and time will be mentioned on the admit card.

3. Eligibility

• Anyone may appear in the test.

• However, appearing in ECAT does not automatically guarantee admission eligibility.

4. Entrance Test Fee & Token

• Generate challan from: admission.uet.edu.pk (ECAT Portal)

• Fee: Rs. 3,000

• Token valid only for ECAT-2026 (First).

• HBL (Online Banking / HBL Konnect)

• UBL Branch / UBL Mobile App / UBL Omni

5. Application & Admit Card Process

a) Application Submission

• After fee payment, complete the online application.

• Select preferred test center carefully (cannot be changed later).

• Last date to apply: Sunday, March 22, 2026

b) Admit Card

• Available for printing: Tuesday, March 24, 2026 (Evening)

• Contains test date, time, and venue.

• Missing the allocated slot means no reappearance opportunity.

📢 Result Announcement: Friday, April 17, 2026

6. Test Pattern & Subjects

• Level: Intermediate

• Duration: 100 minutes

• 100 MCQs:

  • 10 English

  • 90 equally divided among other selected subjects

• Each correct answer: 4 marks

• No negative marking

7. Support Facility

Printing assistance available at test centers from:

8. Important Dates Summary

• Last date for token & application: March 22, 2026

• Admit card printing: March 24, 2026 (Evening)

• Entrance Test: March 30 – April 03, 2026

• Result announcement: April 17, 2026

9. Photo ID Requirement (Mandatory)

Valid Photo IDs include:

• CNIC/NICOP

• Juvenile Card (NADRA)

• Original Matric/Intermediate Certificate (with photo)

• Computerized Domicile (with photo)

• Passport

• Statement of Entry (“A” Level students)

• NADRA Form-B (with photo)

Failure to present valid Photo-ID may result in expulsion from the test center.

10. General Instructions

• No retest for missed slot.

• Fully automated system — no rechecking.

• Test fee is non-refundable and non-transferable.

• University reserves the right to amend policies.
