Eligibility Criteria

For M.Phil Programs

1. Minimum 16 years of education (B.S./equivalent) after F.A./F.Sc (130 credit hours) or Master's degree.

2. CGPA of 2.50 (Semester system) or 50% marks (Annual system) in the relevant subject from a recognized university.

3. Foreign degree holders must provide an equivalence certificate from HEC.

4. Valid GAT/GRE/HAT (subject/general) test score ≥ 50% from NTS/HEC or UOB subject test.

5. Government employees must submit Departmental NOC / Study Leave before registration.

6. Minimum number of students to start class: 8.

For PhD Programs

1. 30 credit hours M.Phil/MS or equivalent degree with 6 credit hours research.

2. CGPA of 3.00 (Semester) or 60% marks (Annual) in the relevant subject from a recognized university.

3. Foreign degree holders must provide an equivalence certificate from HEC.

4. Valid GAT/GRE/HAT (subject) test score ≥ 60% from NTS/HEC or UOB subject test.

5. Government employees must submit Departmental NOC / Study Leave before registration.

6. Minimum number of students to start class: 5.

How to Apply

1. Visit Online Application Portal: http://application.uob.edu.pk/gso/index.htm

2. Fill and submit the online form.

3. Print the online application form (only printed form is accepted).

4. Attach:

   • Two sets of attested copies of educational certificates (Matric, Intermediate, Bachelor, Master/MS/M.Phil)

   • Detailed marks certificates & degrees

   • Local/Domicile certificate (applicant & father)

   • CNIC (applicant)

   • Four recent passport-size photographs

   • Bank receipt of processing fee Rs. 4000/- (non-refundable) (HBL University Branch, online account no. 08730001324203)

5. Submit all documents to Graduate Studies Office (GSO), Room 3, 1st Floor, Administration Block, University of Balochistan, Sariab Road, Quetta, 87300 before the closing date.

PhD Applicants: Must submit Statement of Purpose including:

• Research proposal title

• Literature review

• Objectives, hypothesis, methodology

• Significance & proposed outcomes

• Intended research impact

• Demonstration of passion and enthusiasm for research

Important Notes

• Limited seats are available in each department/institute/center.

• Migration certificate (original) required at admission.

• Result-awaiting students cannot apply.

• The university reserves the right to cancel admission process without prior notice.
