Admission Notice: Post-Graduate FCPS-II / Training Program

(Session 2026–2027-C)

Applications on the prescribed form are invited from eligible Medical Graduates for admission to the following Postgraduate training programs at Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Medical College Lyari, Karachi:

• FCPS-II Specialties:

  • Gynecology & Obstetrics (Gynae & Obs)

  • General Surgery

  • Paediatrics

  • Medicine

🎓 Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the postgraduate training programs, applicants must fulfill the following benchmarks:

• Basic Degree: MBBS from a recognized university listed in Schedule I & II of the PMDC (Pakistan Medical & Dental Council), Islamabad.

• PMDC Registration: Must hold a valid, active registration with the PMDC as a medical practitioner.

• House Job: Completion of a one-year resident house job in a PMDC-recognized institution.

  • For MCPS admission test: The one-year house job must be in the relevant field from a recognized institution.

• Exam Prerequisite: Candidates applying for FCPS-II training courses must have successfully passed the FCPS-I examination.

• Foreign Graduates: Must produce an official degree equivalence certificate issued by the PMDC.

📝 Application Instructions & Process

1. Form Procurement: Application forms for each specific course must be obtained directly from the Office of the Director, Postgraduate Medical Education, Training, Research & Ethics Committee, Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Medical College Lyari, Karachi.

2. In-Service Candidates: Applicants currently employed in government or private sectors must obtain and attach a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their employer. Failure to provide an NOC will result in immediate rejection.

3. No Late Admissions: No applications will be accepted, processed, or entertained after the closing date (June 9th, 2026).

4. Communication Restrictions: In-person contact and direct emails outside the official application framework will not be entertained.

⚠️ Important Rules & Conditions

• Selection Process: Selection will be strictly merit-based, determined by the cumulative results of the Entry Test and Interview/Viva, subject to the availability of seats and stipends.

• Stipend Policy: FCPS-II training is paid as per the prescribed stipend structure of the Government of Sindh. Training for all other remaining courses is honorary (unpaid).

• Committee Rights: The Postgraduate Selection Committee reserves the right to cancel any selection, admission, or application at any stage. The college also reserves the right to modify the admission dates or change postgraduate study rules to improve training standards.

• Emergency Duty Mandate: In the event of a mass disaster, health-related emergency, or a change in government policy, residents are fully expected to participate in college relief efforts and related emergency medical duties.
