Announcement of Admissions

Postgraduate FCPS-II / MCPS Training Programs (Session 2026-A)

Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Medical College, Lyari Karachi invites applications from medical graduates for admission to the following Postgraduate Training Programs (Session 2026-27). Applications must be submitted on the prescribed admission form.

FCPS-II

• Gynae & Obstetrics (Gynae & OBS)

• General Surgery

• Paediatrics

• Medicine

MCPS

• Gynae & Obstetrics (Gynae & OBS)

📌 Eligibility Criteria

For All Applicants

• MBBS degree from any PMDC-recognized university listed in PMDC Schedule I & II.

• Valid and up-to-date PMDC registration as a Medical Practitioner.

• One-year resident house job from a PMDC-recognized institution.

• Foreign graduates must provide PMDC equivalence certificate for their qualification.

For FCPS-II Applicants

• Must have passed FCPS-I.

For MCPS Applicants

• Must have completed one year of house job in the relevant specialty from a recognized institution.

📝 Entry Test & Selection Process

• Entry tests and interviews will be conducted for FCPS-II and other recognized training programs.

• Selection will be based on merit, subject to available seats and stipends.

• In cases of disasters, health emergencies, or government directives, residents will be required to participate in relief and support activities as assigned by the college.

📄 General Information

• Application forms are available at the Office of the Joint Chairperson, Postgraduate Medical Education, Training, Research & Ethics Committee, SMBBMC Lyari, Karachi.

• The college reserves the right to amend rules and regulations to improve training programs.

• Stipends for FCPS-II trainees will be paid according to Government of Sindh policy.

• Training in other programs will be honorary (non-stipendiary).

• The Postgraduate Selection Committee reserves the right to cancel/accept/reject any application or selection.

• Selection in all postgraduate degree programs will depend on seat availability and specialty requirements.

• In-service candidates must submit a No Objection Certificate (NOC) at the time of application; otherwise, their application will be rejected.

• Communication will not be made through WhatsApp calls or emails.

• Applications submitted after the deadline will not be accepted or processed.
