The Institute of Health Professions Education & Research (IHPER) at Khyber Medical University (KMU), Peshawar invites applications for several academic and certificate programs aimed at improving professional skills in health professions education, research, and artificial intelligence applications.

These programs are designed for health professionals, teachers, researchers, and students who wish to enhance their expertise in teaching, curriculum development, assessment, research methodology, and AI-based academic tools.

1. Diploma in Health Professions Education (DHPE)

Duration: 1 Year

The DHPE program is a comprehensive academic diploma designed to strengthen the professional capabilities of health professionals in the areas of teaching, assessment strategies, curriculum development, and educational leadership. It focuses on improving instructional methods and educational management within the healthcare education sector.

1. Educational Psychology

2. Advanced Teaching and Learning

3. Curriculum Development and Management

4. Assessment and Evaluation

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must possess one of the following qualifications:

• MBBS or BDS

• MD or equivalent qualification recognized by PM&DC

• BS / MSc Nursing (recognized by PNC)

• DPT or MSc Physiotherapy

• BS / MSc Paramedics

• Pharm-D

• MSc Psychology

• BS / MSc Prosthetics and Orthotics Sciences

Additional Requirements:

• Candidates who have completed the 6-month Certificate in Health Professions Education (CHPE) may receive exemption from Modules 1 and 2 and can directly enter Module 3.

• Computer literacy (MS Office and Internet usage) is mandatory.

2. Certificate in Health Professions Education (CHPE)

Duration: 6 Months

This certificate program provides foundational knowledge in teaching methods, curriculum planning, and assessment techniques for professionals involved in health education.

The program includes:

• Two 5-day contact sessions

• Assignments

• A final exit examination

Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility requirements are the same as those listed for the DHPE program.

3. Certificate of Artificial Intelligence in Research (CAIR)

Duration: 3 Months

This program focuses on the use of Artificial Intelligence tools in research activities, helping researchers and students improve efficiency in literature review, research design, data analysis, and academic writing.

Structure

• Six training sessions

• Conducted on alternate weekends

Modules

1. Introduction to AI and Prompt Generation

2. Ethics of Artificial Intelligence

3. AI Use in Research Problems, Gaps, and Questions

4. Literature Review with AI

5. Research Methodology and Instrument Development

6. Data Analysis using AI

7. Article Writing using AI

4. Certificate of Artificial Intelligence in Education (CAE)

Duration: 3 Months

This certificate program teaches educators how to integrate Artificial Intelligence into teaching, curriculum development, and assessment methods.

Structure

• Six sessions conducted on alternate weekends

2. Ethics in Artificial Intelligence

3. AI to Enhance Teaching and Learning

4. AI for Developing Teaching Sessions

5. AI in Module and Curriculum Development

6. AI in Assessment

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet one of the following conditions:

• Undergraduate or postgraduate university students

• Teachers and researchers

Additional Requirement:

• Proficiency in computer and internet use is mandatory
