Institutional Status: A premier institute of the Pakistan Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (PCSIR).
Affiliation & Accreditation: Affiliated with NED University of Engineering and Technology (NED-UET); the degree program is formally accredited by the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC).
The institute has a total intake of 50 seats, distributed across the following specific allocations:
1. All Pakistan Merit (05 Seats): Awarded strictly to the top 5 candidates in the overall national merit list.
2. Provincial Quota (36 Seats): Distributed across provinces as detailed in the official IIEE Prospectus.
3. PCSIR Employees Quota (04 Seats): Reserved exclusively for the sons/daughters of PCSIR employees.
4. Self-Finance Scheme (05 Seats): Requires a dedicated deposit of Rs. 600,000/- with the application form.
💡 Note: Any seats remaining vacant in the quota or self-finance categories will automatically be shifted to the Open Merit pool.
To be considered for admission, applicants must fulfill the following structural requirements:
Nationality: Must be a citizen/national of Pakistan.
Academic Benchmarks:
Current Batches: Candidates who appeared in the HSC-II Pre-Engineering / Computer Science Examinations in 2026 and passed HSC-I with a minimum of 60% marks.
Previous Batches: Candidates who successfully passed HSC, DAE (Diploma of Associate Engineer), or an equivalent recognized foreign examination during 2025, 2024, or 2023 with a minimum of 60% marks.
A-Level Candidates: Allowed to sit for the entry test. Provisional admission will be calculated using O-Level results and the Entry Test score. Final A-Level grade sheets along with an IBCC Equivalency Certificate (showing minimum 60% marks) must be submitted by October 30, 2026.
Test Benchmark: Candidates must secure at least 50% marks in the Pre-Admission Entry Test.
Applicants can qualify for admission via one of the two following entry test categories:
Category-I (IIEE Test): The applicant takes the IIEE Pre-Admission Entry Test 2026 administered at either the NED-UET Main Campus (Karachi) or PCSIR-LLC (Lahore). A minimum score of 50% is required.
Category-II (NED-UET Test): The applicant relies on the standard entry test of the NED University of Engineering & Technology, achieving at least 50% marks. The official result score sheet must be appended to the application form.
Provisional merit scores will be mathematically weighted as follows:
$$\text{Merit Score} = 40\% \text{ (HSC Part-I / O-Level / Equivalent Marks)} + 60\% \text{ (Entry Test Score)}$$Note: For candidates who completed their HSC/A-Level/DAE in previous years, the 40% academic weightage will be applied directly to their complete final result.
Admissions remain strictly provisional until the final physical submission and verification of mark sheets or IBCC certificates by the relevant education boards.
