POSTGRADUATE TRAINING PROGRAMMES – ADMISSIONS 2026

The Pakistan Institute of Ophthalmology (PIO), Al-Shifa Trust Eye Hospital, Rawalpindi, invites applications for the following Postgraduate Training Programmes in Ophthalmology for the year 2026.

Available Training Programmes

1. FCPS-II (Ophthalmology)

Duration: 04 Years

2. Diploma in Ophthalmic Medicine & Surgery (DOMS)

Duration: 02 Years

Eligibility Criteria

For FCPS-II Ophthalmology (4-Year Programme)

• MBBS degree recognized by PMDC

• One-year house job in a PMDC-recognized institution

• FCPS-I (Ophthalmology) passed within the last three years

• Candidate must not be registered with CPSP at any other training institution

• Maximum age: 35 years

For DOMS (2-Year Programme)

• MBBS degree recognized by PMDC

• One-year house job in a PMDC-recognized institution

• One year experience in Ophthalmology from a recognized institution

• MBBS must have been passed within the last five years

• Maximum age: 35 years

Important Instructions

• Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for test/interview.

• Selected trainees will receive a stipend according to the official policy of Al-Shifa Trust Eye Hospital.

• Submit the duly completed application form along with:

  • Attested copies of all educational documents

  • Attested experience certificates

  • Bank draft/Pay order of Rs. 2000/- in favor of Al-Shifa Trust Eye Hospital, Rawalpindi

• All application materials must reach the PIO Admin Office on or before 20 November 2025.
