PVMC is a legal regularity authority. It was founded in 1999 under Pakistan veterinary medical council act 1996.pakistani veterinaries are best service provider in Pakistan as well as in all parts of the world.  That is verification to the effective regulation of veterinary medical education being done by the PVMC. Now Pakistani veterinarian can practice in Pakistan as well as abroad without being registered with PVMC or without being in good standing with it.

The main Mission of the PVMC is performs its duties in the registration, practice and conduct of the veterinarians. PVMC establish uniform standard of basic and higher qualification in Veterinary Medicine and practice in the country. PVMC also establish the uniform standard of basic and higher qualification veterinary medicine and surgery in the country

The council was constituted in 2000 which comprised of the 19 members. Dr MS Jeffery and the rafaqat Hussein raja perform the main duties of the PVMC.  it was under the PVMC act 1996 initially 6 universities were accredited for the award of basic/higher veterinary  AH qualification.
