The idea of establishing a Defence Housing Authority was propounded in 2007. After allocation of land and legislative formalities, the Defence Housing Authority Peshawar was formed under an Act of KPK Parliament called as DHA Peshawar Act 2009.The DHS Peshawar was established putting forth the necessity of healthy, secured and best housing facility to people of Khyber Pakhtunkhuwa. DHA Peshawar is designed keeping view the quality urban architecture. It proved to be success among population of KPK, because of availability of best educational, recreational and cultural and civil facilities in the boundaries of DHA Peshawar. The team of DHA Peshwar is well managed and organized in resolving problems of the housing scheme and updating the previous system of management. The DHA Peshawar is spread in 2000 Kanals. The authority has separate branches for each department. DHA Peshawar is consisted of; Marketing Branch, Lands Branch, Technical Branch, Legal Branch, Security Branch, Transfer Branch, Finance Branch, HR Branch and MIS Branch. DHA Peshawar has a plan to establish its own health care and educational projects such as; DHAP University and DHAP hospital. It also has golf course and farm houses. Modernly designed mosques in each phase and huge Main Jamia Mosque are part of its development plan. DHAP has 4 Kanal, 2 Kanal, 1 Kanal, 10 Marla, 8 Marla and 5 Marla Residential Plots.
