What is your area of specialization?

My area of specialization is Curriculum Development. I did M.A. Education from Institute of Educational Research, University of the Punjab, Lahore and M.Ed. with specialization in Curriculum development from Bristol University, U.K.

What is your vision for University of Education, Bank Road Campus, Lahore?

Education is powerful, catalyzing agent which provides mental, physical, ideological and moral training to the individual, so our mission is to prepare dynamic leaders and practitioners in teaching, research and management having content excellence, pedagogical competence, commitment and integrity that may ensure quality and sustainable development at all tiers and sectors of education. Our vision is to eliminate the bifurcation of practical and theoretical knowledge and create congenial environment for the development of future educationists, researchers and managers fit for survival in this ever changing world. We want to emerge as leader institution in various branches of education and other disciplines.

What are the shortcomings in the students now a days?

I.T. and Media has commendable role in changing the world into global village but our students lag behind in coping with the substantial changes due to non-availability of desired resources. Most of our population belongs to middle and lower classes of the society. They do not have the access to these facilities at home. So they are incapable to assay and crystallize their perceptions. It is prior responsibility of the educational institute to provide and lionize such facilities to cultivate a cult of empirical approach, eliminate the ephemeral enigma in the way and provide the complacent environment to ensure their training for future life. It should be in the capacity of an institute to inculcate critical thinking to develop a refined sense of ethics, self reliance and sportsmanship. The role of an institute is incontrovertible to prepare the students for future life because education remains fruitless without training.

Likewise, if we talk about the students and administration relationship, in case of any conflict with authorities and administration they don’t opt peaceful way of negotiation with authorities to resolve the issues. Dialogue culture needs to be promoted among the students.
