MCAT Entry Test
|
| GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS |
- For admission to King Edward Medical University and Medical and
Dental Colleges of the Punjab, a written Entry Test will be held based
on F.Sc. (pre-medical) or equivalent level questions covering Physics,
Chemistry, Biology and English, prescribed by the Boards of
Intermediate and Secondary Education Punjab and the Federal Board of
Intermediate and Secondary Education, Islamabad.
- The Entry Test (for Government-run Medical institutions of Punjab)
will comprise of four sections. There will be 220 multiple choice
questions (MCQs), 60 in Physics, 60 in Chemistry, 70 in Biology and 30 in English. For each question four (4) choices will be given i.e. A,
B, C and D. The candidate has to choose the correct / best possible
answer.
- The duration of the Entry Test will be two and a half (21/2) hours.
- The candidate will be provided with a Question Paper and a separate
pre-printed answer sheet.
- All answers must be given by filling the circles under the correct
answer i.e. A.B.C or D with blue or black marker / ink pen.
- The candidate will be required to write his/her name, Father's Name,
Date of Birth and Roll Number on the top of the answer sheet and
rough work sheet.
- All rough work must be done on the back side of the Question paper
(not on Answer sheet).
- In order to ensure a fair chance to every candidate and to conduct the
test efficiently, the candidate must follow the instructions given in the
booklet and by the instructor at the time of the test.
- During the test, candidates will not talk, whisper or turn their eyes or
head away from their own papers.
- Any evidence of cheating or nori compliance of instructions will
disqualify the candidate from the Test and his/her name will be
removed from the list of selected candidates.
- The candidates should carefully think about their answers out of the
four (4) options for each question before filling the circles on the
answer sheet. Once an answer has been given on the answer sheet,
the candidate will NOT be permitted to change any of his/her
answers in any way. The candidate CAN NOT erase or fill another
circle. All such answers will be treated as wrong.
- There will be NEGATIVE MARKING in the test. Each right question
carries five Marks. However, for each wrong answer, one mark will be
deducted.
- When the Instructor says STOP, the candidates should stop writing and
turn over their Booklets.
- The candidates should not mark answers- on the question paper, all
answers must be given on the answer sheet only by completely filling
the circle in the relevant column, with Blue or Black marker / ink pen.
Erasing OR filling another circle for the same answer is not allowed on
the answer sheet. All such answers shall be considered as wrong.
- Calculators, mobile phones or any other electronic devices are not
permitted in the examination hall.
- Before attempting the Test, the candidate will have to shade in the
relevant circle with blue or black marker/ink pen his/her Admit Card
Number (given on the Admit Card), his/her name and father's name
very carefully in the space provided on the answer sheet.
- The candidate should bring with him/her the following:
- Admit card
- A clip board
- Blue/Black marker/ink pen
