Whatsapp introduces new video call feature for its users

Some users are allegedly getting the video call feature for WhatsApp.

The most used instant messaging service of the world has been getting latest features recently that include GIF support, document sharing as well as different emojis.

These quality of life changes were not in a high demand, unlike video calling.

Most demanded feature now available on Whatsapp

The whatsapp users have demanded video calling option to call other WhatsApp users that has now become available. At earlier stage, it had some issues however now they resolved to some extent.

The small changes that are mentioned above have been coming to the instant messaging app over the past few weeks. Though these changes did not warrant as much attention as video calling is getting now.

Video Calling feature available for Beta Users

The video calling feature on whatsapp is becoming available for users at random. It is restricted to the recent beta version of the app only.

This requires that both of the people have video calling enabled on their whatsapp updated version. If they do not have video calling enabled then they will just get a regular call from you.

The video calling User Interface shows up even if the other person does not have the video calling enabled for them.

They will also be able to watch out a video calling option in their call logs however tapping it will just get you an error.

If you have video calling option available, when you tap the call icon on top of a chat, both video call and regular call options will come in front of you.

Just few lucky users seem to have access to this new feature though there is a way to get it running also on your WhatsApp.

How to enable video calling

According to Android Police:

We’ve had success forcing video calling to activate by smearing app data and logging in again. User can try this, but make sure you back up your chats first.

You must remember this that it only works for the beta version of the app. We do not recommend trying this on the regular Google PlayStore version of WhatsApp.
