Lahore, The Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) of Higher Education Commission has awarded the highest rank to Virtual University.  
 
The assessment was made to evaluate the educational standards of higher education institutions all around the country. To judge the educational standards the QAA has made criteria for quality enhancement cells (QECs) around the period of six months. The agency assesses the overall performance of the university and its efforts for the promotion of education. 
According to the statement of VU, the university is very pleased to achieve the highest rank by QAA and all the credit goes to management and staff of the university. 
 
HEC gives percentage and categories to institutions that fulfill the requirements.  Category W is the highest category with scores above 85 percent. Now Virtual University got 93.5 percent of the quality standards. The rank was given on the basis of faculty development, industry-academia links, academic freedom, standardized syllabus, rationalization processes around the campuses. The QAA’s assessment in 2012, the university got rank in category W with a scoring of 91 per cent.
 
It was further notified that Rector Sadaqat Mehdi is pleased by the continuous academic achievement of the QEC at the university. He also esteemed the advisor of the Directorate of the Quality Enhancement Cell Muhammad Nawaz for conducting a research of QEC.
