UVAS holds its 7th annual convocation yesterday

Governor Rafique Rajwana asked the students to think critically as well as to be enough intellectually responsive.

During his address at the 7^th convocation of University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) on Monday, the governor said that veterinary and animal science graduates should support for the building and development of the nation.

Praising the University for being between the top 10 universities in Pakistan, he said that the UVAS had played a vital role in assisting the country to become self-sufficient in the food region. Furthermore he asked the university to improve its role as a major support institution for the development of local revolution in livestock as well as the allied areas and offer an expert human resource.

He also emphasized on the requirement for being prepared to answer back to animal disease incursion in an appropriate and cost-effective manner and have simplified the policies and response structures in place mainly to attain this.

HE further added, “The work of this university is highly appreciated for the construction of its academic partnership along with the government, industry as well as the other government and private investors for the promotion of education, research, public services and also the national development”. He also said that the development of cattle was the main concern of the government. The Vice Chancellor of UVAS Prof Dr Talat Naseer Pasha also address on this event. The degrees were granted to almost 757 graduates, comprising of 246 MPhil plus 22 PhD. Though, the governor has also presented the medals to 38 position-holders who show the brilliant performance.
