USAID awards scholarships to KP and FATA students

Islamabad, A total of 5 students of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) will get educational scholarships through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). The scholarships have been issued for those students who have been shaken by disasters in KPK and FATA.

USAID plans to deliver around1, 000 educational scholarships for such students and will continue it for upcoming three years.

Over 15,000 families are living in the region since 2003 and majority is of widowed women and bereaved children. The Conflict Victims Support Program of USAID will give numerous advantages by providing $25 million to students, workers, families and people who are suffering from these disasters. The program also comprises over the educational scholarships and such other benefits for the students.

The support fund program is being initiated with the telecom division of Pakistan to avail the Mobile Financial Services in the expenditure of scholarship funding for such students. Adnan Sher, party chief for the USAID funded program said that this support program will support and find different benefits for those people who have not facilities.

The scholarships will be deposited in the mobile accounts of the victim students or otherwise in the accounts of their guardians.

Moreover, As many as 36 Pakistani students will get educational scholarship by the Embassy of Azerbaijan the scholarships will be awarded to all the needy students of Pakistan.

The Ambassador of Republic of Azerbaijan Dashgin Shikarov inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Embassy of Azerbaijan and Inter University Consortium for Promotion of Social Sciences (IUCPSS) in collaboration with 12 Pakistani universities. It was decided in the MoU that a Heydar Aliyev Corners which will be established on the name of National Leader of Azerbaijan. On this occasion he said that the MoU aims to set up Heyder Aliyev Corners in all the respective universities which will support to build up relationships between these two countries.
