Peshawar: The University of Peshawar is planning to establish its own testing service from this academic year which would be similar to NTS test for admissions to BS, MA and MSc programs.
These testing services could also be used by the other public sector universities for admissions in different programs. The decision was taken in a meeting of heads of teaching departments with Vice-Chancellor Professor Mohammad Rasul Jan.
Professor Jan said on the occasion because of special economic steps the university closed its last financial year with zero shortfall which is as compared to Rs219 million in the year 2012-13. He further added that last year some tough decision was taken because of assistance of heads of departments.
"Now employees would be allocated according to the rules and efficiency and those are doing private businesses or any other job without provision of NOC and their heads would also be responsible" Professor Jan said
New heads would decide with the meeting of senior faculty members for better harmony.
The VC asked the chairmen to inform him about the cases of deserving students to allow them to appear in exams. Around 355 students has applied for HEC scholarships and amount would be handed over after the provision by university, the director admissions told the meeting.
