Lahore: As the new academic session of most of the schools is beginning across Punjab on Monday (today), the textbooks of various subjects are still not available in the market that is causing a lot of problems for the aspirants.


The Punjab Textbook Board (PTB) has failed to deliver the textbooks well in time.


Parents and children kept vising the markets during the last week however they returned without getting the new editions of textbooks of various subjects.

A survey by the media sources unveiled that just English textbook of 10th class is available in the market, whereas Urdu, Physics, Biology and Computer Science textbooks of 9th class are yet to be delivered.

A student of 9th class, Hassan, while talking to media said that “we are told that these books will be available within a week”. Shamail Ahmed another person who had come to the market to purchase books for his son, a student of 10th class, said “The government must ensure the timely availability of books. The session is beginning on April 4th and it looks like that the concerned of authorities are least bothered regarding delivering the textbooks in the market”.

The Managing Director (MD) of Punjab Textbook Board Ahmed Ali Kamboh was not available for any comment.
