UET renames stadium after Junaid Jamshed

Lahore: University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore has changed the name of university’s stadium and named it as Junaid Jamshed Stadium in honour of the singer who died in a plane crash near Havelian last month.

A statement issued by the officials of university said that decision was taken to recognize the services of Junaid as well as his work as an artist and after that as a religious scholar.

The late Junaid Jamshed studied mechanical engineering at the university.

The decision was taken unanimously in a meeting presided over by the vice chancellor of university Prof Dr Fazal Ahmad Khalid in recognition of services of Islamic scholar.
