Islamabad, Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Institute of Science and Technology SZABIST University has got the highest rank by Higher Education Commission (HEC) on the basis of its standard declared by its Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) which is a monitoring organization to check the standard of higher education in Pakistan.

Experts says that  believe that this system of ranking initiated by HEC would produce a result orientated  competition among both the public and private sector universities because they would  struggle hard to exceed each other which would resulting to increase the quality of higher education in the country.

QAA graded SZABIST in category "W" as the quality of education at the university comes across 90 percent of the quality standards in the field of research, faculty development, industry academia associations, and academic freedom, syllabus standard in all the sections of a course, restructuring practices all over the campuses according to international standards and also of HEC guidelines.

The Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) has been introduced by the HEC in several public and private sector universities which cooperate with the commission for monitoring their quality of education according to the HEC’s standards in their respective institutions.

Quality Assurance Agency made by HEC control all these Quality Enhancement Cells. These cells also work to substitute Institutional Effectiveness (IE) to provide research, planning, policy making, restructuring methods, decision making and critical academic advantages. It also deliver an unconditionally impartial judgment to HEC about their students of organizations, faculty, staff, curriculum, course offerings, and learning consequences.
The administration of SZABIST University felt great pleasure by getting highest rank by the QAA assessment and has accredited this academic achievement to the energetic and determined efforts of its administration and faculty members.

Around 12 postgraduate students of Pakistan have got MEXT (Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan) Research Scholarships for the current year 2013. The purpose of awarding these scholarships was to give opening to these students for higher education in their particular areas at universities in Japan.
 
In this regard a ceremony was conducted for these selected students by the Embassy of Japan on Thursday. The ex-student of MEXT Alumni Association of Pakistan (MAAP) told the young awardees about their understanding and experiences.
