Islamabad: The watchdog for private education in Islamabad Capital Territory has permitted the aspirants of privately-owned local schools as well as colleges along with the invalid registration to sit in the upcoming 5th and 8th grade scholarship exams.

The Federal Directorate of Education is scheduled to start conducting the centralized annual exams for fifth grade and middle standard (scholarship) exams in the second week of February next year.

The PEIRA working under the management control of the Capital Administration and Development Division registers and regulates private education in ICT up to inter level.

In a separate letter issued to private educational institutes, the PEIRA said that the rules on private educational institutions registration and fee determination had been impugned and that the case on the matter was sub judice in the Islamabad High Court.

The letter furthermore added that to facilitate the aspirants intending to sit in the Centralized Annual exam for class 5th and 8th (scholarships) exam 2017, the condition of the production of valid PEIRA registration certificate for schools and colleges had been abandoned off.

“The aspirants of private educational institutes, whose registration along with the PEIRA is no more valid, might also appear in those exams,” it added.
